What is in the SPA? It stands for The William Ransom School and Parents’ Association.

It’s everyone who one way or another is connected to the school: parents, teachers, teaching assistants, office and caretaking staff, governors and all stakeholders involved in the school.

The SPA acts as a starting point for the school community, it is a support mechanism for the school and a support means for all parents. It is also a major contributor to fundraising for the school.

The SPA organises and runs events throughout the year to help raise money for the school, including fun events for all the family and nights out for grow-ups, such as quiz nights, school discos, summer fetes, treasure hunts, activity nights and more.

You can also support the SPA by buying uniform from the second-hand uniform shed, depositing unwanted clothes/shoes in clothes donation bank and by buying name labels from Stikins (code: 25434).

You can find out the latest about SPA events and plans via our Facebook and Twitter pages, or by looking out for updates in the school newsletter and year group WhatsApp chats. Tickets for SPA events are available via PTA events.  

Money raised at these events is then spent on various projects: an extension to the new outdoor environment and play area, ongoing support of the IT needs, coaches for theatre visits, inviting artists to come in to work with children etc. Money raised last academic year is being used to pay for the new library as well as class sets of Chromebooks for all the children in school to use.
