What is our role

Governing Body responsibilities include:

  • Setting strategic direction, objectives, targets and policies
  • Reviewing progress against the budget, plans and targets
  • Approving the school budget
  • Acting as a critical friend to the Headteacher by providing both support and challenge

How do we do this?

  • Through dedicated work of four sub-committees – Finance, Premises, Learning & Teaching and Personnel
  • Through regular meetings of the Governing Body and review of reports and activity
  • By working collectively with the school to achieve the best educational outcome for the pupils

How do we operate

The School Governors meet twice each term as a full Governing Body. Between times, smaller committees meet, focusing on the details of specific areas. Details of the members of each committee and their attendance at meetings can be found on the attendance record page.

How can you contact us

If you would like more information about becoming a school Governor, or have matters you may wish to raise with the Governing Body, you can contact us through the school office or via email: governors@wransom.herts.sch.uk
