School Uniform
Our expectation is that all children at William Ransom Primary School wear school uniform, however children do not have to wear branded school uniform. If you would like your child to wear branded school uniform, this can be purchased from Beat School Uniform, or from our very own Uniform Shed, located in the school car park. Here you will find a good selection of pre-loved school uniform available to purchase as vastly reduced rates. If you would like your child to wear non-branded school uniform you will be able to find this in a range of high street shops and supermarkets.

We encourage all children to dress and undress themselves e.g. putting on their own coat or removing shoes for activities, so please make sure they can manage laces and zips etc before sending them in wearing them.
Please don’t send your child in special clothes or valuable items like expensive watches etc as, in spite of our best efforts, clothes can occasionally get messy.
Phones are not permitted to be in school, but if you feel that your child needs to have one with them for safety reasons on their way to school and when travelling home, they must be handed into the school office on arrival and collected at the end of the school day. If you are struggling with whether to be your child a smartphone or not, please click here to look at the work that we are currently doing as a school community with our smartphone free pacts to give parents and carers more choice.
Smartwatches are not permitted in school, due to their connectivity and recording functions. If worn, these must be handed in to the school office on arrival, to be collected at the end of the school day.
Please take account of the weather each day as your child may spend over an hour in the playground during their lunchtime. In hot weather we encourage hats and sun cream applied before school.
We do not allow any jewellery except for stud earrings, so children can take part in all lessons, including PE, safely. Please name your child’s belongings, especially cardigans, sweatshirts and coats, and check lost property regularly.
If you have any questions regarding the School uniform, please come in and speak to a member of the office staff.
