Storytelling Day at WR

Chip came to tell some 'Epic Tales'

Chip came along for the whole day to tell stories and have some fun with children from Reception to Year 6.  Every single year group had a different story and Chip ensured everybody had the chance to take part in choosing the genre!  The stories were interactive, with children choosing which way the tales would go - with some quite ingenious, amusing and thoroughly bizarre ideas!

Each session ended with questions for Chip about being an author and discussion about how Chip finds inspirations for his stories.  He explained that, often, he is retelling a tale he has heard before but changing certain parts to make it his own - this is something we do at school all the time and the children were pleased to hear that this could, one day, make them millionaires!

Rowan Class were so inspired that they made up their own stories in pairs and groups straight after their sessions.  They had romantic, adventure, action and Godzilla/dinosaur stories to name but a few!

A huge thank you to our wonderful SPA who funded this day for the children and to those parents who supported the day by buying some books from Epic Tales to help towards costs.
