London's Burning! London's Burning!
Year One went back in time to 1666 to experience the Great Fire of London!
We started the day in Thomas Farriner's bakery on Pudding Lane and baked some soda bread.
Then we rebuilt the streets of London in 1666 with our Tudor houses. We watched as the fire burned hot and crackling and sang London's Burning as it destroyed our houses. The fire break worked well and stopped the fire in its tracks. Then we discovered how difficult it was to use buckets to put out the fire.
We recorded the fire in our diary just like Samuel Pepys.
We finished the day with some fire pictures and then rebuilt London out of bricks in groups, showing great co-operation!
Everyone had an amazing day learning all about the Great Fire of London.
