Hardworking Hazel are impressing everyone!
Hazel Class have impressed all the adults in school with their great start to Autumn term. Here's a few photographs of our super learners in action:
In our outdoor football lessons, we have been practising skills such as dribbling, stopping the ball and passing. We created some great balances in our first gymnastics lessons of the year too!
We are excellent mathematicians; counting, recognising numbers in words and sorting!
We have been reading Cave Baby by Julia Donaldson and working really hard on our writing and phonics. We have focussed on writing sentences with capital letters and full stops.
We have enjoyed reading stories under our reading tree. A big thank you to Mrs Morris for painting it for us!
In Science, we have been sorting animals by their characteristics and learning about our 5 senses. We enjoyed trying to guess the hidden items in the cup with only our sense of smell.
We have been learning about the great fire of London in History and where we live in Geography. In PSHE, we have been discussing kind words and kind hands.
We've also begun to craft our own Tudor house (as part of History) and learnt about wheels and axles, to build our own fire engines (in D&T). We even made some Christmas cards in September! Aren't we organised?
In Art, we have been creating spirals of different colours and sizes. We experimented with continuous line drawings and soluble pens.
In computing, we have been practising how to log in to devices and use our mouse to point and click. We created pictures of tasty food using the drawing tool!
We have enjoyed learning about our classmates using their fantastic homework collages. What a busy and brilliant start to Autumn term. Well done Hazel Class!
