Transient Art in Reception
Transient art is something we do a lot of in Reception. You may or may not have heard the term before. It literally means “moveable art”. It is any creative work that does not stay fixed in its position.
You may ask, why is it important to include it in our curriculum? Transient art gives children the opportunity to explore different approaches and make changes to elements, helping them to learn how different approaches can change the end result. It‘s process-orientated, so encourages the children to imagine all sorts of possibilities because there isn’t any one product that is expected of them.
